SLOVAKIA
BRATISLAVA The capital of Slovakia is nowadays the modern city and the seat of most important political, economic, social and scientific bodies and institutions of the Slovak Republic. The city is suitable for a long weekend, meeting or combination with visit of neighbouring countries. OUTSIDE OF BRATISLAVA Towns Modra and Pezinok stretch below the mountains of Male Karpaty in Western Slovakia about 45 km from Bratislava. They became known for their wine and vineyards and manufacturing of pottery called majolica. Devin Castle is located approximately 12 km from Bratislava. This impressive landmark, today used for exhibitions of the Bratislava City Museum, belongs to to oldest history of Slovakia. |
